This pretty "Boho" wedding cake was for my son and his new wife. I started out 2023 with a wedding in my own family. It was a Vanilla Cake with Caramel Toffee Crunch filling and Swiss Meringue Buttercream frosting. They used a photo of themselves as the topper and I dressed it up with flowers, feathers and pearls to match the brides bouquet. They chose to have the wedding dinner at The Lobster Shack in Jeannette since it was just a small wedding with only family in attendance.
*June - 2023* Thomas Wedding
This 2-tier elegant cake was set up at The Red Star Barn in Clyde, PA. Everything was gorgeous at this venue and the bride had such cute touches everywhere. The cake was adorned with feathers, silk ribbons, dried flowers and the bottom tier had a lace stencil added (closeup in the photo below). There were also cupcakes for extra guest servings done in different buttercream flower colors/techniques.
*June - 2023* Mack/Fess Wedding
This sweet cake and cupcakes were set up at the Blairsville VFW. The wedding couple chose a simple wedding cake with silk flowers and used their engagement photo POLAROID for their topper. The guests enjoyed two different kinds of cupcakes.
*July - 2023* Bracken Wedding
This elegant 2-tier cake was triple layer to make each tier a bit taller than my standard wedding cakes. The bride fell in love with a wedding cake she saw using wafer paper flowers and although it was a new concept for me, I gave it a try. We used fresh flowers on the cake for the topper and along the base of the bottom tier. There were also 10-dozen cupcakes for guests. This wedding was held at Lingrow Farm in Leechburg.
*August - 2023* Kunkle Wedding
This wedding was held on the bride's family property. They rented a fancy tent and the party guests partied in luxury. The entire reception was decorated beautifully with wooden tables, elegant place settings and gorgeous fresh flowers. The bride and groom chose to have just a simple 2-tier textured buttercream cake dressed with fresh roses and supplied the rest of their guests with cookies and other sweet desserts (I only supplied the wedding cake shown). Fun fact: I did another wedding for the bride's sister and she also had a tent wedding on her parent's property (her's was due to Covid restrictions!!)
*August - 2023* Decesare Wedding
This 2-tier cake was set up at the always classy Chestnut Ridge Golf Resort in Blairsville. The sunshine coming through the floor to ceiling windows did cast a shadow on the cake, but if you look closely you will see the hand-placed sugar pearls on the edges of the cakes. I also provided 11-dozen cupcakes and several kinds of cookies for the cookie table (but the event planner plated the cupcakes and the cookies after I left so I was unable to get a photo of them looking pretty on plates when I delivered everything).
*August - 2023* Barnhart Wedding
his 3-tier cake was delivered to Huber Hall in Latrobe, PA. The bride and groom liked the looks of several cakes and we combined the features they liked best to make one gorgeous 3-tier buttercream cake for their special day. The top tier and the bottom tier were smooth buttercream and the middle I hand-piped a buttercream scroll design. The silk flowers were arranged on an angle to cascade from the top cake down to the cake board below. I also provided one "kitchen cake" to get enough servings for their guests.
*September - 2023* Riggle Wedding
This reception was held at Cherry Runn Lodge in Homer City. The bride and groom opted for a small 2-tier ribbed buttercream cake only decorated with fresh Baby's Breath (they are not touching the cake, for those of you who know this is not an edible plant). All stems are inserted inside straws :-). I also provided 12-dozen Cupcakes and 4 varieties of wedding cookies (Peaches, Apricot Horns, Nut Horns and Silver Dollar gobs).
*September - 2023* Nepsha Wedding
This 3-tier cake was all buttercream and hand-painted to look like birch tree logs. The flowers were silk and I arranged them onsite. The reception was held at Saltsburg River Hall in Saltsburg, PA. The bride and groom chose this 3-tier cake and 8-dozen cupcakes (4 flavor combinations/2-dozen each) to serve guests.
*September - 2023* Kane Wedding
This sweet and simple wedding cake was dressed in wildflowers. The bride and groom only wanted a single tier cake and were decorating St Nicholas Church Hall in Nicktown, PA with vases of wildflowers. They had an entire dessert table (pies, cookies, etc.) so I only provided this cake for them to cut and save for their anniversary.
*September - 2023* Mulligan Wedding
I love the look of a "naked" cake for a wedding celebration. This reception was held at Joiner Farms in Northern Cambria, PA and the cake fit in so well with the rustic look of the barn and the wedding decorations. The cake was Spice Cake with Cinnamon Cream filling and my Vanilla Buttercream frosting. I also provided 6-dozen cupcakes.
*September - 2023* Schmidt Wedding
This reception was held at the always gorgeous Fairman Family Farms in Shelocta, PA. The bride and groom chose a 4-tier "naked" cake in all Lemon Cake with Raspberry Puree/Vanilla Buttercream filling. The entire cake was for guests (I also provided an extra anniversary cake for them to take home) and they still needed a few cupcakes for more guest servings. I provided 2-dozen Chocolate/Peanut Butter filled Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Frosting and a peanut butter cup on top and 2-dozen Apple Harvest Spice/Apple Pie filling Cupcakes with Cinnamon Buttercream frosting.
*September - 2023* Fatula/Hummel Wedding
This beautiful cake was set up at an outdoor venue in Butler called The Woods at Eisler Farms. It was such a unique outdoor setting and the cake the bride chose fit the setting perfectly. They requested a 2-tier cake with a gold splatter between tiers and fresh flowers on both the top and middle cake ledge. On the bottom cake there was a hand-piped flower design. {This was originally to be a stencil design, but as things would have it ... my stencil was giving me issues so I gave up and hand piped the entire thing myself.} I did attach a close-up of the flower piping work. I also provided 6-dozen cupcakes for the guests (3 flavor combinations/2-dozen each).
*October - 2023* Palmer/Mickus Wedding
This gorgeous fall cake was set up and delivered to Joiner Farms. The flowers on this cake were fresh (aren't they stunning). They had a hard time deciding between flavors for their cupcakes so they decided to choose them all... I did 7 different cupcake combos for this wedding. The bride had these cute little signs made up for guests to know the flavors. The cake was White Almond Cake with Lemon Curd/Raspberry Buttercream with my standard Vanilla Buttercream frosting.
*October - 2023* Florio/Guiste Wedding
This 3-tier buttercream cake was set up at Aultman Firehall. I also provided 6-dozen cupcakes (3 flavor combinations/2-dozen each) for additional guest servings as well as most of the cookies for their cookie table. They got married at the beach but held the reception for family and friends locally.
