First Birthday Cakes

I love making FIRST BIRTHDAY CAKES!!  I always include a FREE 6" single layer "SMASH" cake for the child to match the purchased party cake.  It is for the birthday child to enjoy with his/her fingers while the family takes photos.  It's a single layer cake (without filling) and I make sure there are not any fondant pieces, sprinkles, nuts, candies, etc. for the baby to choke on.

This 1st birthday cake was a bit different from the ones above.  It was a small "family" party, so I scaled down a cake the mom fell in love with on the internet for a smaller crowd.  The top "pumpkin" is actually the baby's smash cake (it could be lifted off).  The small cake on the bottom was for the family :-)  How adorable is this??

This cake was also a guest cake on the bottom with the "smash" cake (baseball) on top.  It was designed to look like one cake, but the top cake lifted off.

This was also a 1st birthday cake. The top cake lifted off and was actually the baby's "smash" cake.
